Reconnecting to Source, with Uma Inder

2 500 kr

In this time maybe more then ever we feel the need to connect to “Source”. Whatever we call it; God, Goddess, Consciousness, Lifeforce, Nature, Unity.

It’s only through reconnecting with our deepest existence and our deepest roots that we we can find something to hold on to in times like these.

We will do this using tools from the Vedic tradition, including Yoga and Tantra. This includes Asana, Pranayama, Mantra, deep Self-examination and Ritual.

”When the grip’s tightening, whats uncoiling?

When all’s changing, what’s remaining?

When all’s dissolving, what’s undying?

See here exposed, a curse or a blessing?

Until blessing’s all that’s left, false floors be collapsing.” Uma Inder

Uma Inder

Umā’s maternal ancestry begins in Nadiad, or Nandgam, the City of Nine. The original Desais of Nadiad are reputedly descended from the ancient Nagar (no-poison) community of Shiva devotees. Legendarily, this sect was appointed by Lord Shiva to both subdue and protect the virulent Naga (serpent-beings). Umā’s paternal ancestry originates in the Arora tribe, a Hindu warrior caste from the Indus Valley in Punjab.

Umā was born and raised in Kenya where her maternal grandfather, the family yogi was celebrated as “Freedom Fighter Extraordinary”. He and his devout wife offered their family

home and vision to serve as a base for the ‘Mau Mau’ rebels’ bloody rise for independence.

Umā’s first memories are recurring dreams in infancy. Dreams of the spatial relationship between a particle and the vibrating edge of space; of an “endless hum,” the primordial sound current. As a youth, she was a competitive athlete with a speed and power that defied her small frame.

Umā trained in gemology and metal smithing, and while forging heavy slabs of metal, she remembered the call to freedom. Compelled by childhood dreams and visions of a shamanic teacher of Native American blood and emerald eyes, Umā planned to leave for Peru at 20. She was gifted a one-way ticket to Bali instead.

In Bali, she was urged to meet an unruly ceremonialist in the hills. He was Shunyata, the green-eyed Native American teacher she dreamt of in childhood, and he initiated her as Umā Kalika into the terrifying and rapturous world of extreme polarity. They practiced Kundalini Yoga Tantra as a means to recondition the body to walk between worlds without literally blowing out the mind and nervous system.

She lived with him in a jungle hermitage without electricity or modern conveniences for 6 years, and was in daily service to him for 14. Upon his request, she began teaching internationally in 1990.

In America, Umā gained context for her mystical experiences by investigating both the derivatives of Classical Yoga and more significantly Tantra and Advanced Yoga Sciences under Dharmanidhi, a tantric teacher originally mandated by Satyananda Saraswati of the Bihar School.

Umā graduated as an Ayurvedic practitioner from the Ayurvedic Institute of America in Foster City, California and pursued greater understanding of the synergy of Tantra, Yoga and Ayurveda under the mentorship of a Siddha alchemist and Ayurvedic physicians and Jyotishi in India.

In 2007, Umā returned to Ubud, Bali where she was to conceive and co-found KUSH, the Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Center at The Yoga Barn.

In 2011, She founded S.A.T.Y.A. The Synergistic Alignment of Tantra, Yoga and Ayurveda, a vehicle for intensives and in-depth training that runs in direct response to screened student application.
